Using Probability to Solve the Frog Riddle
A puzzle and animation From Ted-Ed where probability is the key.
There’s a lot of things in life that can’t be predicted with total certainty and that’s where probability comes in. This technique is used to calculate how likely something is to happen.
In the video above, you’re stranded in a rainforest, and you’ve eaten a poisonous mushroom. To save your life, you need the antidote excreted by a local species of frog. Unfortunately, only the female frog produces the antidote. The male and female look identical but the male frog has a distinctive croak. Can you solve the puzzle using probability and get out alive?
