Award-winning developers Touch Press have created a wonderful app that highlights the amazing work of musician, Beethoven. The app comprises of four legendary recordings with synchronised musical score and a visual BeatMap of the orchestra.
In addition to the music, you have over 90 minutes of specially filmed video interviews with other musicians, writers and renowned conductors. You can even view Beethoven’s 1825 manuscript, complete with original markings.
Everything displayed in the app exudes quality and as a result, makes the entire app very pleasing to browse through — even to someone who knows very little about Beethoven. It’s a beautiful use of technology, bringing history into the modern age.
Although the app is free, you do have an in-app purchase that unlocks all features. The free version only allows you two minutes from the second movement of the symphony.
