Over on the Nickelodeon website, there’s a new way to learn about coding. With the help of SpongeBob SquarePants (and his animated friends) you can now learn the basic principles of coding in a fun, familiar way.

The website, called Code-It, has a real informative help section for getting started. There are plenty of video tutorials for you to watch and a glossary to learn about common coding words.

Once you’re feeling confident, you can head over to the code editor and begin animating your favourite characters (SpongeBob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Breadwinners or Sanjay and Craig).

Although you can’t create anything spectacular, it is a fun experience for learning the basics, with relatable characters.
